At Mobile Photo Connect 2016, the premier conference for executives and entrepreneurs in the mobile photography ecosystem, a panel of high-powered industry players presented the four Mobile Photo Connect Awards to the most outstanding among 31 products competing in the event’s three show-and-tell sessions.

The Mobile Photo Connect 2016 Awards winners are:

  • Best of Show Award: Funimate, by Funimate
  • Best Business Potential Award: JPEGmini, by Beamr
  • Best Technology Award: Keegan, by Regaind
  • Special Recognition Award: Keepy, by Keepy

Turkey-based Funimate offers a video editing app that enables users to create highly engaging videos, featuring innovative real time effects that the judges called “building super computer capabilities right into your smartphone, with a consumer experience so fun and addictive it might just take the global tween and teen market by storm.”

Israel- and US-based imaging technology company Beamr offers photo and video optimization solutions, including its JPEGMini photo recompression products that judges said “will instantly save companies bandwidth and money while giving consumers a faster imaging experience.”

France-based Regaind offers AI-based photo analysis solutions, including Keegan, the personal photo coach web service launched at Mobile Photo Connect, which “combines natural language conversation with machine vision analysis.”

US-based Keepy’s namesake product is an inter-generational visual memories sharing app that promotes family members to share photos, along with videos and voice annotations. “A combination of interesting technology and novel customer experience and a great imaging engine under the hood.”
